Maximus Silva is a sculptor, musician and filmmaker who was born and raised in Los Angeles, California and currently lives and works in Chicago, Illinois. At a young age, he became completely fascinated with how things are made, often taking apart various household items to find out what was inside. He was obsessed with the infinitely rewarding question, “what would happen if…?”. This question has pervaded his entire life and is still at the center of his studio practice today. He spends time exploring the depths of Chicago’s industrial metropolis, searching far and wide for loud noises and objects to put together and take apart. Max is currently studying sculpture and Art + Tech at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, focusing on woodworking, metalworking, and electrical engineering.
